Why would your readers be informed, and therefore interested in, learning what pharmaceutical companies say about the benefits of vaccines that they produce for enormous profit?
Good point and a fair question! The point here was to highlight who is criticising the decision and what they have to say. Or in other words to show that pharmaceutical companies themselves are now trying to voice concerns about it (their profits). Ironic. But yes, it could have had a bit more context.
There is a very good case to be made that contracting measles is in itself very good for a child, it teaches their how to deal with fevers for example. I was very ill with measles and spent two weeks in an isolation hospital when I was Sick it was a horrible time, but still I am glad I had measles and would be disappointed had I been vaccinated against it.
